Football tournament raises over £5000!

On Thursday 1st July adidas held their third annual five-a-side football tournament in Bury, Manchester. The tournament was World Cup themed and the Coaching for Hope team, made up of volunteers from Leicester and Manchester, played as Cameroon. We were up against Denmark (lost 4-0), USA (lost 3-2), Argentina (lost 3-1) and Australia, (won 2-0). Zelda Yanovich (CFH Programme Funding Officer) says: "Thank you to all those that took part in the team and supported us. We got better and tighter as the tournament wore on, and had we not got knocked out at the group stage we clearly would have won!"

Once again, staff from adidas supported our work by making sure all the teams paid their fees, raised sponsorship and joined in the post-match celebrations - they have so far raised over £5,000 for Coaching for Hope! Thanks again to the adidas team for their support over the years and personal time they give to support our work.

Charity golf tournament

In the autumn, adidas held a charity golf day at Stockport Golf club and raised over £5,000 for Coaching for Hope. This marks adidas' long standing commitment to our programme and shows that although the economic climate has changed, their drive and determination to deliver hasn't wavered one bit!

Women's 10km walk raises £3,000

In March 2009 adidas organised a charity walk in aid of Coaching for Hope, raising more than £3,000. Coaching for Hope's UK Programme Manager Mike Richardson also put on a pink t-shirt and joined the walk in place of our Director Jane Carter who was injured and couldn't take part.
