Youth Leadership: In 2008, Coaching for Hope facilitated a Young Leaders project being rolled out by The FA in Cape Town. Our partnership with The FA enabled us to provide an opportunity for these ambitious young people from the UK to take their leadership skills outside their home environment and take their personal development to a whole new level!
The FA have shown their support for our work by providing coaches to run Coaching for Hope courses in Burkina Faso, Mali and South Africa. In February 2008, The FA sent their experienced regional coaches to run ‘top up’ football coaching sessions with our local coaches. This was a tremendous success with the local coaches branding it a ‘once in a lifetime experience.’ A huge thank you to The FA, especially coaches Andy Foster and Chris Downham, from everyone at Coaching for Hope.
Being the strategic charity partner of The FA, Coaching for Hope is recognised as one of the UK's leading Sport for Development organisations. By developing local football coaches' communication skills, we enable social messages to be linked to football so that young people can easily absorb the information about issues such as sexual health and substance misuse.
Coaching for Hope would like to thank The FA for supporting our work over the past three years - we hope this great partnership continues to grow and develop.
